WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
The first day and a half of the workshop will be a short course providing overviews of thermal infrared spectroscopy, the TES instrument, surface and atmospheric science using TES data, and tools and techniques for data extraction and utilization. The second half of day two will be used for abstract presentations by attendees. The third and final day will be an optional field trip to the nearby Granite Wash Mountains for a demonstration of airborne and field spectrometer thermal infrared data in the context of present and future missions. A detailed preliminary agenda is available on the website.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Attendees are invited to submit an abstract describing their TES data analysis projects for presentation during the workshop. Eight minutes will be given for each oral presentation with ample time for in-depth questions and answers. Should it become necessary, some abstracts may have to be presented in poster form if the number of abstracts submitted exceeds the time available for oral presentations. Abstract format is 2-page, LPSC style using the template provided at (http://tes.asu.edu/Workshop/TESwkhsp_msword.doc). Please email the properly formatted abstracts to ruff@elvis.mars.asu.edu. The deadline for abstract submission is October 1, 2001. An email notification of acceptance and the form of presentation will be sent out by October 8.
FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT
A final announcement will go out by September 24, 2001. This will contain logistical information regarding hotels, maps of the area, parking, etc. The final agenda will be posted on the workshop website by October 8, 2001.
